Christmas Cupcakes

White chocolate with white chocolate ganache

Peppermint Chocolate

Eggnog

This is what I ended up doing for neighborhood gifts this year at Christmas time. I was pretty pleased with myself, being it the first time baking cakes from scratch! There are definitely things that I will tweak next time, especially with the white chocolate. It was pretty sweet, and not quite the white chocolate flavor I was looking for. Have you ever had white chocolate frozen yogurt from TCBY, or Haagen-Daz white chocolate raspberry truffle icecream? That is the white chocolate flavor I am looking for! I bought real white chocolate, but it just tasted really sweet. So we will see. I've got some more baking and tweaking to do on that one to make it what I envision!
The Chocolate peppermint was better. I found an awesome chocolate cake recipe, that was so moist! The cake was awesome, and I really liked the flavor of the icing, but I think next time instead of doing a cream cheese frosting, I will do a buttercream.
Eggnog was devine!! By far my favorite!
Granted they were all good enough to pass out to neighbors, so none of them were complete flops! This is definitely a hobby of mine now, and I am slowly but sure getting more and more cupcake supplies, so this is not the last blog you will see of cupcakes!

FYI

I will also be making this blog private again. I already have most of my readers email addresses so I am making the change tonight. I am planning on doing a separate blog that will be public , but this one will contain more personal things in it that I don't necessarily want any jo shmo having access too. I will post what the new blog address is once I start it in case any readers here would like to read that one too.

Finally Updating!

I haven't updated for a while, because so much happened in such a short amount of time, I felt too overwhelmed and didn't want to spend the time doing it. At last I have tackled the challenge! I forgot my camera for Thanksgiving and Christmas (don't know how I did that) so I still need to collect pictures from everyone else before I post about those events. But I think everything else that I would like to share and remember is on here now!

SO much has happened in my life that past few months! The most surprising/ overwhelming is my new calling at church. As of October I am the new Young Women's president in my ward! I am beyond excited to be with those girls, and have had so much fun, but it is beyond me why I am the person chosen for this. However, I do believe that whom the Lord calls the Lord qualifies, so I am trying my best to fulfill this calling to the best of my abilities and to make sure I am worthy to receive the promptings I need too, to help these girls. It has been a great experience so far, and I have grown a lot too in just a short amount of time.

So now that the holidays are over, and things have slowed down I feel like I an pay a little more attention to my blog! Hopefully I can be a little more consistent so what I blog about is fresh and I can capture our memories a little better for our book!

Some random, Cute pictures

These are some funny pictures of the last few months. I love my kids :)

Notice the trail of toilet paper behind her? It was still attached to the roll :)

Maylee taking a break from feeding her baby a bottle to give Kaleb a taste

One day I came out of the kitchen after paying some bills, not really paying too much attention to what was going on around me to find Kaleb with these on his head, watching a movie. I asked him why he was wearing them, and he told me he was spiderman. Needless to say, a real spiderman costume came for Christmas :) He makes me laugh

Maylee playing with Kaleb's "worker-man" goggles & tools, and blocks. So glad I buy her dolls :)

Halloween 2010

This year for halloween we were a family of caveman! It was so fun to dress up together, we all had a blast! We got the idea because of Maylee, we kept saying with her little ponytail on top of her head that she would make a great pebbles, so we coordinated ourselves to match! Unfortunately she lost her little bone for her hair by the time we took the majority of our pictures, but I think there are a few in there where you can see the bone! We had a great halloween, it started off with our preschool party thrown at my friend Melissa's house a few days before, then the day of we went trick or treating at Blake's work, had dinner and a cute party for the kids at my sister katie's house, went to our church for trunk or treating, and then out to Blake's parent's house to finish our trick or treating and a movie. The day was pretty cold a rainy, luckily our kids are still little and happy with the indoor trick or treating we did, and were fine with the handful of houses we actually walked too! Halloween is right up there as a favorite holiday! We always have so much fun!
P.S. if you couldn't tell, I made the costumes :)

At blake's parent's house, with Wade, Jolene, and Tanner, the nerds, and of course the proud parents of the nerds and cavemen!

I think with a little editing, this could totally be a Jesus picture!

Pebbles and Bam-Bam

Kaleb Starts Preschool!

Kaleb started preschool this fall, and it has been a blast! I've been nervous to send him away from the home at his age, especially since he still has 2 years before being able to go to kindergarten, but have wanted him to experience more structured learning time. So I got to talking with some neighbors that feel the same way, and we started our own preschool! It started out as three of us, and has now grown to five with the new semester. We each teach for two weeks, and we meet twice a week. So in the fall I would have a four week break before I had to teach again, now I have an 8 week break! The best part about it is that he is going into homes with people I know and trust, with kids I know and trust, and he is thriving! I also have control over what he is learning. We both love it and it is so fun to get together for field trips and parties. Last semester we went to the Red Barn for a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch in Oct, had a halloween party, went to thanksgiving point's dinosaur museum and light exhibit, and had a Christmas party. Unfortunately, I just realized I am horrible at remembering to take pictures! I did however remember to take pumpkin patch pictures and Kaleb's first day of school! I am so proud of this little boy, and cannot believe how fast time goes, I remember looking at him as a new born wondering what he would be like as a toddler, sending him to school ect. And now these times have come and some have even past. It is kind of surreal to think about it! I feel so privileged to be a mother, and to have these wonderful personalities apart of my life forever!

Of course, Maylee had to be in the picture too :)

Fish Lake Sept. 2010

Sometime in September (I think) we went to Fish Lake with Blake's brother, Wade and his wife Jolene, and Blake's parents for a long weekend. Jolene's grandfather has a cabin out there, and they were both generous enough to offer it and let us use it. It was a blast! The trip was mostly a fishing trip for the boys! They woke up early and went fishing, came home for the afternoon while it was sunny, and went back out in the evenings. We had a lot of fun eating breakfast out on the deck, talking walks to visit the horses, going on a little boat ride, going to the ice cream shop, and just playing outside! I love moments like these, the whole weekend Jolene and I kept saying how we needed to keep trips like this up because they would be such great memories for the kids, playing with their cousins and having fun with the grandparents! My kids are blessed to have great family and relationships on both Blake and my sides! Here are a few pictures from the weekend
